Chemical Anchor Epoxy AH Hardener is an epoxy hardener that is used in conjunction with Chemical Anchor Epoxy AH Resin to form a fast setting chemical anchor designed for permanently setting bolts, starter bars, threaded rods, etc.

HEALTH EFFECTS - ACUTE

Swallowed:
Will cause severe damage to the mucous membranes.

Eyes:
A severe eye irritant. Liquid will cause burns. High concentrations of vapour may cause irritation

Skin:
Corrosive to skin - prolonged contact may cause irritation or burns. Repeated or prolonged contact may lead to dermatitic effects. Repeated or prolonged exposure may cause skin sensitisation.

Inhaled:
High concentrations of vapour can cause severe irritation of the respiratory tract. Possible allergic reactions, respiratory sensitizer.

HEALTH EFFECTS - CHRONIC

Knowledge is based on that of the constituents. Repeated or prolonged skin contact can cause asthma and skin sensitisation or other allergic response. Repeated or prolonged skin contact can cause chronic dermatitis.

FIRST AID

Swallowed:
Seek immediate medical assistance. Give water or milk to drink. DO NOT induce vomiting.

Eyes:
Immediately irrigate with copious quantity of water for at least 15 minutes. Eyelids to be held open. Seek immediate medical assistance.

Skin:
Wash thoroughly with plenty of mild soap and water. Make sure all traces of material are removed from the skin. Remove contaminated clothing and wash before re-use. If irritation, swelling or reddening occurs seek medical advice.

Inhaled:
Remove victim to fresh air. Allow patient to assume most comfortable position and keep warm. Recovery should be rapid after removal from exposure. Keep at rest until fully recovered. Seek medical advice if effects persist.

First aid facility:
Ensure that eye wash bath is readily accessible.

ENGINEERING CONTROLS

Use with adequate ventilation. Must be sufficient to prevent breathing of vapour. General factory or outdoor ventilation will normally be sufficient, if working in enclosed or poorly ventilated areas the use of mechanical ventilation may be required.

PERSONAL PROTECTION

Avoid contact with the skin or eyes and avoid breathing the vapour. Always wash hands before smoking, eating, drinking or using the toilet. Wearing of the following personal protective equipment is recommended:- Overalls or similar protective apparel; Safety glasses, goggles or faceshield as appropriate; PVC, neoprene or nitrile rubber gloves. Wash contaminated clothing and protective equipment before storing/re-using.

FLAMMABILITY

Will burn if involved in a fire but not considered to be a significant fire risk.

ENVIRONMENT

Avoid contaminating waterways.

OTHER PRECAUTIONS

Polymerisation with considerable heat build up will occur if masses >0.5kg are mixed with epoxy resins in uncontrolled conditions. Always observe adequate standards of industrial hygiene.

STORAGE AND TRANSPORT

Transport in original containers. Not to be loaded with foodstuffs. Store in cool, dry, well ventilated place and out of direct sunlight. Store away from foodstuffs.

SPILLS AND DISPOSAL

Wear appropriate protective equipment. Contain spillage using absorbent (soil or sand, sawdust, vermiculite, inert material). Prevent any contamination of drains or waterways. Scrape up and seal in properly labelled drums for disposal. Remove residue from contaminated areas with specific clean-up solution or use water and detergent. Observe local regulations when disposing of waste material.

FIRE/EXPLOSION HAZARD

No unusual fire or explosion hazards. On burning will emit toxic fumes. Fire fighters to wear self-contained breathing apparatus if risk of exposure to products of decomposition. To extinguish fire involving the material use carbon dioxide, dry chemical, foam. Use water jet to keep containers cool if near a fire. Hazardous decomposition products of combustion : carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, oxides of nitrogen, soot and smoke, oxidative products of polymeric material.
